This is one of the worst examples of a school magazine I could find. Firstly, the title of this magazine is certainly not suitable for the audience mainly because it has no relevance to their school or anything about a school environment. The title is 'sms' which is a slang word for a text message, therefore in a way people could argue that this magazine is promoting texting in a school environment.
Secondly, the name of the actual school is not very clear at all which could cause confusion and the magazine does not have a date anywhere, so the reader wouldn't know if the magazine is in date.
The image on the front page is a mid-shot of a student and this is the shot that I will be using for my magazine, however I think this particular image is too busy so the reader wouldn't know where to look first. My image for my magazine will be quite simple so the reader's attention isn't completely focused on the image instead of the actual magazine.
In my opinion the font on this magazine is far too bright and not very clear which makes the text extremely difficult to read. Also the boxes are transparent which is again not clear, it isn't very eye-catching for the reader and again hard to read. The yellow and green colours together seem to clash therefore they are not nice to look at, so I think that they should of used a variety of much more simple colours and finally too many different fonts make the magazine look too busy so the reader can't see which part of the magazine is most important.
(I think SMS means St Marylebone School!)
